Birds Eye View

Alyson has come to be quite the little bird photographer. Here she is sitting quietly on the side of the house with a pair of binoculars, her new cell phone (with the ringtone set to play "A Time to Love") and my camera. Which she was kind enough to let me borrow to take this shot. We sat out here on this bench for an hour or so and we probably saw hundreds of birds every 15 minutes. I wanted to pour cement on this side of the house so that we could park the camper and the truck and the boat we don't have. It turned out that my wife's idea of planting just a couple of things until we were ready really wasn't such a bad idea.
Please leave plenty of nice comments because Alyson will be reading them later.

These are nice. They contrast the different birds quite well and let you feel like you are sitting for a moment with them. It is a fine thing to be young and talented.

Those are GREAT. I only recognize ONE of those birds (technically two, since they were both together in one photo). I suppose we have different ones in Oklahoma.

The one bird with the fuzz in his mouth looks like he's smoking. Smoking is harmful to humans, AND birds.

Just say no to concrete.

Those are really good! I love that she's mature enough to patiently sit and bird watch! Most teens/ tweens won't do that anymore. You are teaching them well! ;)

Aly- very nice shots! Keep it up and you will just get better and better at it!

When my daughter was little, we sat for an hour and watched a mama bird try to teach her baby to fly...it was very cool, and she still remembers that

Those are amazing photos! I esp. like the one of the bird scratching. Who knew birds did that? But then again, I guess they get itchy too...
